This lodge is well known as a world class tarpon and snook fishing destination. The tarpon fishing in the area bays and lagoons takes place from March – May and both tarpon and snook can be caught at the river mouths in September and October. The offshore fishing can be great year-round. Year-round fishing includes snapper, jacks, barracuda and grouper. In the spring and in the fall, huge runs of tuna, wahoo, kingfish and snapper come through the area. All fishing is done with light tackle and 8- to 30-pound test line. Both conventional and spinning tackle are used – Ande and Shimano graphite rods equipped with Shimano reels. The fishing lodge also has an arsenal of fly-casting outfits with 9, 10 and 12 weight rods.
