Rainbows, Browns & Landlocked Salmon
Bariloche, Argentina

Argentina’s Patagonia region is often described as wild, pristine and breathtakingly beautiful. This is a land that is as remote as it is inviting. Here, in Patagonia’s heartland, anglers find unspoiled rivers, streams and mountain lakes teaming with trophy Rainbow and Brown trout and landlocked salmon. A 15,000 acre lake and three of Patagonia’s most productive trout rivers are always at the disposal of Alicura anglers. Seven other fishing hotspots are within an hour’s drive of the fishing lodge. Here, some of Patagonia’s best fishing is accompanied by the ultimate in serenity, scenery, service and accommodations. Furthermore, Alicura’s incredible RED STAG HUNTING & FISHING COMBOS ARE SECOND TO NONE!

The Fishing

High Season – November to May

The lodge’s professional bilingual Patagonia fishing guides are among the most experienced in the region and fully understand all the nuances of the area waters. Many of the guides are locals, whose families have been living in Patagonia for generations. Here, in the crystal-clear waters close to the lodge, huge populations of big German Browns, Rainbows and landlocked salmon thrive. These are unspoiled and un-crowded waters that provide consistently excellent fishing throughout the season. The fishing is usually done by wading and drifting, but full-blown overnight float trips are also available. These float trips offer the ultimate Patagonia fishing experience and are always popular with visiting anglers. Both fly fishing and spin fishing is allowed here, and the professional guides offer casting and fishing lessons to anglers of all experience levels. All equipment needed for the fishing trip is provided by the fishing lodge…all flies, leaders, rods and waders. Riverside Asados (field BBQ´s), with fine wines and gourmet meats are provided for anglers to maximize the fishing time each day

The Lodge
Anglers are accommodated in a beautifully-restored 100-year-old Patagonian estancia. No expense was spared in the renovation…the goal being to provide guests with all the modern comforts while maintaining the feel of old Patagonia. At Alicura, it’s all about escaping the “rat race,” but for those wanting to stay connected, Direct TV, FAX, Internet capabilities and direct-dial phone lines are all available at the fishing lodge. The main lodge houses four private rooms, but there is also a three-bedroom guesthouse and a two-bedroom guesthouse on the property for extra privacy. All rooms have their own full bathrooms. Of course, gourmet meals and fine regional wines are part of the everyday experience.

Other Activities
This fishing lodge is a working ranch that offers endless adventure and sightseeing. One of the most popular activities is horseback riding through the Patagonian plains with real gauchos. This area is also famous for being one of Argentina’s best hiking and biking regions (ask about special hiking and biking tours of the Lanin volcano). Non-anglers also have easy access to great shopping in either San Martin de los Andes or Bariloche.

Location
The fishing lodge is located in the Lakes District of Patagonia. Conveniently close to both Bariloche and San Martin de los Andes, the lodge is easy to access with multiple flights via Buenos Aires every day.
