The Fishing
High Season - December 22 to May 31

Turneffe Island Fishing Lodge is most famous for the Bonefish, Permit and Tarpon fishing. These fish are not only plentiful, but often no more than a five minute trip from the lodge is needed to be in the thick of the action. Besides the Bones, Permit and Tarpon, Turneffe Island Fishing Lodge offers a great mix of fishing that includes Barracuda , Snook, Jacks, King Mackerel, Tuna, Grouper, Snapper, Wahoo and more. Well-maintained Dolphin Super Skiffs zip anglers around the atoll and the open sea to various fishing spots throughout the day. Typical fishing days run from 8 am to 5:30 pm, but early morning and evening fishing can easily be added to the schedule. Usually the fishing begins with interior flats fishing for Bonefish and Permit. Lunches are served both on and off of the island depending on individual preferences. After lunch, anglers head out for Tarpon fishing in our local creeks or troll for Barracuda and Snapper. The Lodge
Turneffe Island Fishing Lodge offers modern, eco-friendly, recently-renovated accommodations that evoke elegance, peacefulness and relaxation. There are 20 beautifully decorated rooms at the lodge. Each room has Mahogany paneling and flooring, oversized windows, screened porches, air conditioning, fans and private bathrooms (with indoor and outdoor showers). There are 8 ground level deluxe rooms, 8 private cabin rooms and 4 superior rooms. All rooms offer breathtaking ocean views. Each morning, guests awake to patio service coffee and tea. Daily housekeeping is provided for all guests.
Other Activities
Non-anglers have just as amazing of a time at Turneffe Island Fishing Lodge as the fishermen do. “Beachcombing” packages are available and offer a wide variety of activities and the ultimate relaxation. Guests have kayaks and a small sailboat available for exploring the island and atoll. There is a volleyball court and a fresh-water swimming pool as well. Some guests just enjoy lounging in a hammock on the white-sand beaches. Professionally guided warm-water snorkeling trips are just a quick five to ten minute trip from the fishing lodge. Special all-day trips to extraordinary snorkeling spots and bird sanctuaries can also be arranged on certain days of the week.
Location
Turneffe Island is a 14-acre private island approximately 35 miles southeast of the coast of Belize and Belize City. Guests are met in the city and are typically transferred to the island by boat.
